As part of the Clean Energy Ministerial, the NEXT group hosts a side-event together with the Global Renewables Alliance and SEMI-EC on the Power Sector Transformation in Asia: Strategies for a Renewable Future and Grid Flexibility.
This side event will explore how to transform power systems in East and Southeast Asia to enable higher renewable energy integration, directly supporting the global RE 3X pledge. The session will begin with a regional overview (Agora Energiewende), followed by a focused case study on South Korea (NEXT group). A panel discussion will explore practical strategies to overcome barriers to renewable deployment, with particular emphasis on grid flexibility and energy storage systems (ESS) as key enablers.
