[Event Highlights]
On April 21, a steel seminar titled “Strategic Design of the K-Steel Act and GX” was successfully concluded in Yeosu.
The session focused on low-carbon steel transition aligned with global market standards and securing supply chains, with discussions on the policy design of GX strategies and the K-Steel Act.
In response to external pressures such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the growing global demand for green steel, the need to build a diversified technology portfolio, including HyREX and DRI-EAF, was emphasized.
Participants also highlighted that low-carbon steel transition is a key driver of industrial competitiveness, requiring strong policy support and international cooperation.
